Recognition of a Bad Mistake – Chomsky’s View on Trump

Recognition of a Bad MistakeEveryone knows the elections are over. Despite the results, the outcome still disappoints many people. And they fail to show any recognition for the newly elected U.S. president.

Recognition of a Bad Mistake – 2016 Election

Scholar Noam Chomsky truly believes the entire election will not bring good changes to America:

“I didn’t like Clinton at all, but her positions are much better than Trump’s on every issue I can think of”.

Furious for the outcome, Chomsky has a message for the people who failed to pledge their votes for Hillary Clinton.

He stated that citizens made a “bad mistake”.

When talking to Al Jazeera‘s Medhi Hasan, Chomsky doubted both the moral and practical way of thinking of society.

“Do you vote against the greater evil if you don’t happen to like the other candidate?”

This is what he had to say against Trump during the election. He blames his victory on the fact that white American is dying.

Even more interesting is how  he predicted six years ago that sooner or later Trump will rise.

Although fully aware that neither Clinton nor Trump are innocent, Chomsky continues to believe that Trump still is a bigger threat. No recognition for him it seems.

“I didn’t like Clinton at all, but her positions are much better than Trump’s on every issue I can think of,” the professor emeritus of linguistics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) told Hasan. Chomsky supported Bernie Sanders during the Democratic presidential primary.

Down below you can also find the official release of Chomsky’s message to the public. Let’s see what he has to say to recent events.

Doubting the President

Chomsky even goes as far as arguing against Slavoj Zizek’s recognition of Trump’s victory.

“It was the same point that people like him said about Hitler in the early 30s.”

Also, this is the closing line that Chomsky addressed to Zizek.

“He’ll ‘shake up the system’ in bad ways. What it means is now the left—if Clinton had won, she had some progressive programs. The left could have been organized, to keeping her feet to the fire. What it will be doing now is trying to protect rights…gains that have been achieved, from being destroyed. That’s completely regressive.”

But the disappointment for Trump winning the White House has no limits for Chomsky. The election was a sham.

“The outcome placed total control of the government—executive, Congress, the Supreme Court—in the hands of the Republican Party, which has become the most dangerous organization in world history.”

Furthermore, even the GOP ( Grand Old Party) continued by making a statement. According to them, they are

“Dedicated to racing as rapidly as possible to destruction of organized human life. There is no historical precedent for such a stand.”
