Organic Food – Russia Might Become the Biggest Producer

Unfortunately, no one cares anymore what food they put in their trunk.

Organic Food - Russia Might Become the Biggest ProducerIn today’s society eating healthy food no longer seems to apply to people. It’s just a matter of choice and taste.

Still, changes are looked upon by persons you would have never thought before. Who approves of a healthy life nowadays?

Among them, we can also mention the Russian president.

Since his open address in December 2015, Vladimir Putin stated his interests regarding the process of importing and exporting food. His main assumption, Putin stated, is that by 2020 Russia will be able to become food independent. Is this actually happening? Taking into consideration how in 2014 Russia obtained an approximate of $20 billion only from food exports, this may actually be true.

Is Russia Now Providing Healthy Food?

This is where the concept of organic food comes into discussion. Overall, it seems Putin wishes to supply countries all over the world with healthy regimes.

By doing so, Russia has high chances of becoming the largest supplier of ecological, healthy products.

In his declaration, he stated:

“We are not only able to feed ourselves taking into account our lands, water resources – Russia is able to become the largest world supplier of healthy, ecologically clean and high-quality food which the Western producers have long lost, especially given the fact that demand for such products in the world market is steadily growing.”

As a result, in September 2015, a decision was taken. The use of genetically modified products is no longer accepted.

This, in fact, was a good decision. Eating healthy does indeed appear to have taken the eyes of consumers. Putin especially approved of it.

“Ten years ago, we imported almost half of the food from abroad, and were dependent on imports. Now Russia is among the exporters. Last year, Russian exports of agricultural products amounted to almost $20 billion – a quarter more than the revenue from the sale of arms, or one-third the revenue coming from gas exports.”

The future does sound good. Maybe Russia will really manage to supply its own domestic market, even those of others.

Although the relations between the U.S and Russia are not at its best right now, someone is taking actions in order to create a better world.

Truth is, many have decided to give up on products containing genetically modified organisms (GMO).

Russia apparently has become a dominant force on the food market and aims to do much more in the future.
