The great State of Michigan has declared the Right to Farm Illegal

Growing Food and Owning Cattle Now Illegal in Cities That Need it Most

Although state Right to Farm laws are sometimes written to protect Big Ag, Right to Farm laws that support small-scale farmers can be a key aspect of creating sustainable, local food systems.

If we want true food security — defined as the ability of a country, region, state or community to be as self-sufficient in food production as possible — then we need a legal system that supports local, small-scale food production.

Allow me to start by repeating a quote that has shaken the very core of the Millennial Generation’s perception of the future:

“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. No more bees, no more animals, no more man.” – Albert Einstein

As if the current problem with a rapidly declining bee population wasn’t enough of a terrifying reality; the great State of Michigan has declared the private farming of bees, livestock, agricultural products and the like an illegal activity.

The Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development ruled that the Right to Farm act is essentially void, that Michigan, the economically depressed land that needs independent economic activity more than many states, can no longer house gardens constructed on the barren abandoned lots that cover it.

The Right to Farm Act gives citizens autonomy over the personal production of goods like food and wool, although the bureaucrats don’t quite care for the “rights” of their people.

The new restrictions ” effectively remove Right to Farm Act protection for many urban and suburban backyard farmers raising small numbers of animals. “

However counter-intuitive these restrictions may seem, the corrupted political system has ascertained small farming practices of ordinary citizens to be a threat towards commercialized farming. Of course it is counter-intuitive; this system clearly does not work to the benefit of the citizens it claims to serve.

It’s yet another blatant strike against humanity by our own public “servants”.

When, will the conquest of greed tread to a halt?

Perhaps when the last tree is cut, the last drop of water poisoned, or when the last breath of air is but a lethal dose of gas. Maybe then they will realize the error of their ways, alone on a pile of gold they serve themselves.
